“Functional hotel in the Pamplona suburbs”
Hotel Villava

Just got back from a couple of nights in this hotel during the 2006 San Fermin festival.
This hotel is a small, modern, rather sterile, hotel located in the Villava suburb of Pamplona, some 2-3km from the centre of town.
The rooms were clean, furnished and decorated to a reasonable standard, if a little drab, and very quiet. Even through the chaos of San Fermin.
It's relative distance to the city centre is perhaps a blessing or curse depending on which way you look at things. For us it provided a base to enable us to duck in and out of the 24 hour party that is Pamplona during San Fermin, and get some much needed sleep. Some people however, may prefer to immerse themselves completely and stay in the centre.
I would say it makes a good base for those who want to party for 18 hours rather than 24 during San Fermin! Outside this time I suspect a more central hotel would be more desirable and certainly more convenient for Pamplona itself.
